Sevenday_640 (1).jpgGood Sunday evening! Scattered showers and storms will begin weakening throughout the late evening and overnight hours. Expect mostly cloudy skies tonight and a low in the upper 60s.

On Monday, there will be a small chance for a few scattered showers, but they will mainly impact only portions of the southernmost counties in Central Alabama. These showers will quickly end by the early afternoon and clouds will begin clearing. Expect highs to be in the upper 80s with lows in the upper 60s.

After an upper-level ridge begins building over much of the Southeast on Tuesday, temperatures will start rapidly increasing and the rest of this week will remain dry. Although the highs by mid-week are predicted to top out in the mid to upper 90s, relative humidity values are expected to be low. This will keep afternoon heat index values from reaching critical levels.

Sevenday_640Good Saturday evening! Expect skies to be mostly clear this evening and during the overnight hours with lows in the upper 60s.

Sunday morning will start off fairly warm and temperatures will climb into the mid 80s by noon. The majority of Sunday will be dry, but expect increasing clouds throughout the day as a band of showers and storms move into Central Alabama by the late afternoon and evening.

These scattered storms will continue overnight into Monday and will quickly diminish by the early afternoon. Expect skies to begin clearing during the evening hours as moisture moves out of our area.

A upper-level ridge will then dominate on Tuesday and throughout the rest of the week. This will create rain-free conditions and allow temperatures to increase greatly into the mid to upper 90s by the end of next week.

7 Day -10PM SHOW.png

Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather started off mild this morning, with a hot afternoon. At 4pm, Tuscaloosa was reporting 92 degrees! That’s nearly 10 degrees above average for mid May. Ofcourse, we can get hot this time of the year, as we’re nearing our summer heat.

There is a small chance of a stray shower or storm this evening and tonight, but most areas will remain dry. Expect temperatures in the upper 60s by sunrise Saturday morning.

The weekend is looking very warm, under a mostly sunny sky. We’ll reach the upper 80s to near 90 during the afternoon on Saturday and upper 80s on Sunday. Overnight lows will warm into the upper 60s. A weak front will approach the area late on Sunday and into Monday. We will see an increase in scattered showers and storms Sunday evening into the day on Monday. I do not expect an all day rain, but don’t be surprised if you see a passing downpour or two during that time-frame.

The ridge will build a bit early next week, forcing temperatures into the lower 90s area-wide by Tuesday and Wednesday. We could reach the middle 90s by the end of next week!
